07-05-2013, 03:33 PM
The topic this month is: "Planes, Trains and/or Automobiles".
This thread is only for posting your entry and any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries please use the comments thread.
As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.
The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.
The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo posted in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame" thread.
Good luck and good shooting.

Well ...here goes....!
Not a smoke belching steam loco but a pretty close mock-up!
Taken last April at Warbirds Over Wanaka.

My first shot processed from Istanbul.:) Taken last Sunday, the BMW caught my eye, parked in a rough Istanbul street while its driver enjoyed tea and a game of Rummy-Kin.

Hi guys, well here is my effort of a B52 landing at Darwin, although not taken this month hopefully it will suffice.

This is my attempt for this month. Taken at Goodwood Revival a couple of years ago.
Could only manage the planes and automobile, no trains.

Here is arguably one of the most picturesque train rides in Australia at Kuranda near Cairns Queensland.
Much photographed, taken in June last year.

We recently did the traditional retiree thing of the Lap of Australia in a Camper. Did not book anywhere, just took our chances on getting accommodation when we got where-ever.
As we approached Darwin, we met hoards of Grey Nomads heading south.
They told us we did not stand a chance a getting into a van park in Darwin without being booked. The first three places confirmed this, but we continued on with hope.
The fourth place had plenty of space, and good amenities and were cheaper than the others, bargain!
Then after we set up camp, we found out why.
The van park was situated right at the end of the main runway in Darwin airport.
AND
This week the RAAF was hosting the US Air Force for war games over Darwin.
Did I say LOUD
anyway, got some decent shots of them taking off.
This one was not one of the loudest but it has a nice jet trail
(might put some of the others up in the rejects thread later)
Thanks for looking
Allan

24 May 2013 (SWMBO's birthday). I don't have a good edit program on the iPad so this is it until I get home - in about 3 weeks.

This is a pic of my daughters 1991 300zx Nissan and my sons 1995 R33 GTS Skyline, taken a couple of weeks ago. My son's been away for 6 months so I have had to "look after" the skyline. It's amazing what the soft light at sunset can do to an image.
