Saturn last night, 1st May, from Brisbane. The first image is at capture size, the second reduced and disc detail enhanced.

Canon EOS 600D, 1080p Video Crop Mode, 1500frames, 30fps, 1/30sec, ISO 6400, Auto white balance and Auto picture style, 2x Barlow, 5x Powermate, 1500mm f/5 12" SkyWatcher Goto Dobsonian, auto tracked this time :)

Thanks for looking,

It was blurry for me so I packed up! Fine colours and banding.

That smaller image is a peach! Auto tracking eh? Isn't that cheating? ;)

That's beautiful. Best result I have seen with a DSLR video crop-mode image. What did you use for stacking, what settings did you use e.g. Number of align points etc.?

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.
Jon, stacked in Autostakkert! using 200 pixel squares.

Stuart, yes I did cheat. My fingers weren't fast enough to switch between slewing azimuth at 2x rate and altitude at 1x rate for manual tracking as the planet was approaching meridian so high up. ;)

Cheers,
Tom

Excellent image, Tom...really fantastic. I'm surprised about your ability to obtain always so good images on solar sistem objects! In the last days, I worked with mak 127 at solar imaging, but your works on Saturn encourage me to try some shoots with Dob122 and ASI120MM on Saturn... I 'm only waiting for a good seeing condition.
Again, congratulations!
