I found the graphic hard to interpret - think it could have been done better for sure. Interesting though.
Good one Bo
that's a huge number of missions

Hmmm... hard to understand how Apollo 8 is shown as a lunar sample return mission given that it only orbited the moon 10 times without any landing attempt:shrug:....

I personally like this infographic better: http://www.blogiversity.org/blogs/gimmesomespace/SpaceMissions.jpg

It's very confusing...
Apollo 8 has a dot for "Flyby" and "Return" but none for "Landing". I suppose it should have a dot for "Orbit" and the "Return" bit shouldn't have "With Samples"...
I've seen a few of these infographics for space missions and this, by far, conveys the information in the least intuitive way I've ever seen... It's also not very pleasant to look at :(
Shame as it would've taken a lot of effort to produce...

Putting it rudely, the graphic presentation is crap. Folded book style? With a reverse bar chart? Nauseating to look at.
Solely my opinion, but lambaste all you like :)

I put on my 3d ...(beer goggles) and it looks ok to me. the sad thing I see is the massive drop off from the 60-70s to now with space programs. (edit. sorry read it wrong, most were failures, maybe that's why)
why can't we send people to the moon again...I'd love to see that in hd!
just my 2 cents.
