CYCLONE LIKELY TO HIT NORTH QUEENSLAND WEDNESDAY.
A tropical low 1004mb (Pictured) has intensifyed over night while moving towards QLD. The Low is Currently about 1000km NE of Cairns is Likely to be named a Cyclone today. Current modelling suggests the cyclone may reach a Catigory 2 on Tuesday before crossing the Coast as a Cat 1 North of Cairns late Wednesday. Areas from Townsville north should be on alert as Strong to Gale Forced Winds up to 90kmhr and Heavy Rain with possible Flash Flooding Likely to develop Tuesday and Wednesday. Rainfall totals from the system may exceed 250mm.
