mananged to get some sun today. lots of dust and smokey skies - even though it was clear the sunlight had a silver feel to it? the seeing was betterthan last weekend but not great.

the whitelight is with the 127ED and the baader solar wedge and ASI 120mm, the Ha is with the lunt 60 SS and DMK41.

Well done David. You're getting plenty of mag on those WL ARs. excellent FD, looks like a panel went missing :)

Wow David – those are fantastic images, it looks like you’re really getting that gear to hum along now. The detail in the WL sun spots and granulation is terrific.

Cheers

thanks guys. the seeing was getting better so i decised to up the anty - i put on the 2.4vixen barlow - it was not less then 30 seconds after i got perfect focus that it went behind the palm trees at 3.45pm - that was it for the day. So i am still keen to use some magnification on that sunspot group. now i hope it will still be there by next weekend:question:

no - the single stack is not as contrasty as i would like, but i am having great trouble with the double stack. i read somewhere in solarchat that if you skew the second etalon and use a rubber o ring you can set it at a different angle securely, which may help. yet to try that. need to source a rubber O ring large enough:question:

Could be Dave. I have thought of a similar thing, my double stacks are off on a slight angle, where some suggest they should be 180º apart. I reckon a trial and error, and yes, an O ring was the way I was thinking.
Engineering store should have them.
