Alpha Librae will disappear behind the Moon at 20:10 and hopefully reappear at 21:12 Sydney Time tonight.

And remember that there are two stars of Alpha Librae so there will be a double occultation :)

Looking at the CdC display Alp01 Lib (mag 5.15) vanishes at about 20:02:30 and Alp02 Lib (mag 2.75) aka Zuben Elgenubi at about 20:09:30.
They reappear at about 21:05:00 and 21:11:30

Having a look through the binos a few minutes ago Alp01 will be hard to spot against the almost full Moon.

I got a few avi's through the 900nc, but cloud moved in and I missed the occultation.

I've got the 11x70s on a L bracket on a camera tripod. I think I saw both A1 and A2 vanish but you're right about the glare. The reappearance might be a bit clearer being on the dark limb - the Moon will be a whole 0.6% past full.
Mozzie, your handle would be really appropriate here. The mosquitoes are out in force tonight.

yes it's strange all the insects still considering how cool it is..i was doing an all nighter on wednesday and the mozzies were in the pod all night...
if i wasn't watching this movie with the kids i was going to video sream the event would have been cool to watch...
with your binos i read a review and with my 9x63 i put vegimite lid on the ends with a cut out hole to reduce the glare it works well can't remember the formula for the cut out size but googling may help you

Alp2 I spotted very close to the Moon. Alp1 was still lost in the glare when Alp2 arrived.
I used the wrong tripod and couldn't stand comfortably for the emergence. The 190XPROB isn't tall enough. The head is at only about 155cm with the legs and column fully extended. The 475B is almost 180cm with the column down and 205cm with it up.

I managed to capture the reappearance of Alpha Librae by chance.. I thought I had missed it due to cloud, but I found it on one of the videos...
