An attempt towards a "deep" image of M104 using a VC200L scope and an uncooled DSLR. Has been processed with the goal of revealing the many globular clusters that surround this galaxy. Only minor noise removal applied, in order to preserve the extended detail and faint globulars (with several at mag 20+)
90 x 5min ISO800 subs over two days. Processed in Pixinsight.
I have here a wide view, a closeup showing the detail I was able to reveal in the galaxy itself, and finally a side-by-side comparison with Rolf Olsen's fantastic deep image (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=92183) of this galaxy, which highlights more clearly the globs that I have been able to resolve.
Hi res full resolution image here:http://www.astrobin.com/full/39331/0/?mod=none&real=
I'm still learning (aren't we all!) so critique is welcomed.
Thanks for looking :)
