Great shot Lincoln! What were you tracking on?

Vixen Polarie, the total exposure time was 25 minutes, there was only 2 or 3 pixels movement from the first image to the last image.

Great image Lincoln. Ditto comments from above.
With a Polarie, how does one get such good alignment with what could presumably be only fairly primitive adjustment capability?

I just put all 4 stars in the reticule of the scope.
Beautiful indeed !
Well done.

Gorgeous.
One of the best I have seen for some time. Again it shows the value of longer exposure time over high ISO.
I've also had my eye on that lens. It gets a lot of good reviews. I don't see any chromatic aberration which is good for that speed.

Chris,
As Lincoln has mentioned, the polar scope is great. I've been able to push out to 8 minutes at 40mm with perfect stars. In a sequence, there was perhaps one or two pixels deviation from the edge of the screen over a 1 hour period. It really is quite awesome as long as you spend the time getting the alignment bang on.
Great image, Lincoln; just the right amount of contrast and it has a painterly feel.

Thanks Lincoln & Humayun. The Polarie is obviously a winner - judging by the growing number of successes I've seen posted. Hmmm - my camera bag is already on the aeroplane cabin limit!

Its a very good lens, you wont find a better 35mm prime.
