I found this spider shell dangling by a thread at work under a shelf today.
Equipment used to photgraph this. 1x Epson flatbed scanner
on 1200 dpi. left the lid open.
Would anybody know if these little guys do this regularly??
Peter.

I just sat him nose first on the glass.
depth of field is reasonable on these units.
you can just about scan anything on a scanner and get a good results.
anyone with a scanner should try it. :)

Cool technique!
Spiders have an exoskeleton so as they grow, the have to shed their old skin... Or pop, I suppose.

I love the red mascara.

Awesome pic - first spider shell I've seen and first scanner pic too.

Gobsmaked that's awesome! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Wow now I can scan dead insects while I'm in the office at work, I just have to remember to not to leave them on the scanner when I'm done! :eyepop:

That's great! Amazing how much detail the scanner captured. Surprisingly good depth of field too!

Cheers,
