View Full Version here: : [SOLD] samsung SCB 4000 colour 1/2' format ccd camera
I am leaving the darkside (video astronomy) and going back to guided dslr astrophotography. Hence i am selling my cameras. the samsung 4000 is a very low light (0.00002lux at an integration rate of 10.2 seconds) camera capable of capturing very faint deep sky objects in short periods of time making autoguiding unnecessary. I have included a mozaic of the camera and pics taken with it and some additional pictures( c9.25" @ f3.3) the camera has had its IR filter removed and all pictures shown have been taken without the use of an astro IR filter.
asking $375 ono excluding post

Greetings Earthling!
Am interested in the camera, I've been thinking about one for a while.
How does it connected to a scope? Using a t-adaptor or does one attempt eyepiece projection for this?
Thanks
Simon.
Hi Simon,
It connects to the telescope by means of a c to 1.25" adapter or a c to t-adapter. The output is analogue video that can connect to an analogue tv input or via a frame grabber to a computer .the frame grabbers(like easycap) can be obtained for around $10 on eBay .they consist of a dongle that plugs into the composite video cable from the camera and into the usb2 port of the computer.Hope this gives you a better idea of how to operate one.Just like all ccd cameras they can be used with G - star capture software available free from the myastroshop website. All the pictures I attached were obtained using the G star capture program, stacked in DSS and processed in photoshop.
