Darned QLD. Everything gets mold on it eventually...Except first surface mirrors for some reason.
SCT correctors have to be pulled at LEAST every 2 years, & my C11 is no exception.
This was done yesterday BTW & it's back in & collimated:thumbsup:

I pulled apart a 7 x 50 finderscope yesterday (paint is chipping, have to repaint, but I kinda like the natural metal look after stripping it :) ). Cleaned the glass while at it - there was a good layer of spores on the rear side of the objective that was NOT visible until you took it off and actually started wiping it. Chinese mold spores probably :) Ahhh CHOO :) (pun intended)
Wife and I finished the bi-annual house demold yesterday - venetians, doors etc. She used disinfectant for hers, I used vinegar mixed with bleach. We noted who did which venetian, and will compare later for regrowth. Willing to bet mine remains mold free longer.
