15 months of Astro imaging.

Hi,

thought I'd put together an animation of my first 15 months of astro imaging with my canon 1100D.
It's been just over 12 months since I started with my astro imaging setup. Not all my images are used, just the ones I like,
8" astrograph, HEQ pro 5 mount.

Here's a link to the animation, 2minutse 40 sec running time plus some funky music so you don't get bored if you choose to view it.

I've also attached what I think are my two best images.

Eta carina, and milky way.

I've learned a lot, and have heaps more to learn yet, but I'm getting there.
For 2013 I plan on doing longer total exposures, to improve on my images.

It's a rewarding and frustrating hobby, all good hobbies are.

Hi Justin, that's a lovely collection of images you have there. I just thought the images were displayed a little too quick would be nice to see them displayed a bit longer.

Yes the speed is probably a little fast, but I needed to keep it to reasonable length, so fellow imagers don't loose interest.

Definitely an impressive collection for only 15 months, especially with an unmodded camera. We've actually both been imaging for about the same amount of tine, but it looks like you've been a lot more productive than me. Makes me think that I should put a video together to show my friends...

Like Paula, I would have probably gone a little slower with the slide progression, but I guess people can always then go to your photo stream and look at any photos they're particularly interested in.

Yes go for a movie, I find showing people individual images fairly tedious.

They can loose interest quickly, bling it up with a movie and they seem more receptive to seeing at talking about individual images.

Currently uploading a longer movie, 5 sec per image.

Thats Neat Justin :thumbsup: seeing a few of these types of clips, I want one of them, how does one make them, ie speacial Prog or possibly WMM ? ?

Windows movie maker seems to be the easiest to work with, quite enjoy using it. The drag and drop function makes it a breeze with importing a large quantity of images for a movie.
One thing I stumbled upon, is the time duration can be set to less one second to make a time lapse movie faster and more fluid in motion.

I have been doing AP for the same amount of time (lunar mostly and some planetary). I have been enjoying every minute of the journey. It's a great idea to put together an animation like the one you have done for the record.
