Hi,

This year my plan is to shift into longer exposures, to squeeze a little more detail out.
Although 5.46 hours is not long compared to some, it's certainly enough to see a difference.
The main thing I see is a halo developing around NGC 4945.

Equipment.

8" Newtonian astrograph f/4. on Heq pro 5 mount. Orion mini guider.

Unmodded canon 1100D, baader coma corrector, cooler box.

41 x 8 minute subs, darks and flat frames applied.

Median stack in DSS, processed in PS7.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice result Justin, I like the composition. Is it a little out of focus or was that the seeing? (I know how F'ing annoying poor seeing can be  :tasdevil:)..ok had another look, seems the star diffraction spikes suggest the focus was ok..? Is it the noise reduction method you used perhaps?

Thanks Laurie!

Still love the 1100D.

Thanks Mike!

A little of each I think.
Certainly the seeing was not perfect, lot's of farmers burning off.
Definitely some processing problems, very different to short exposures to process.
think it will take a while to get on top of this.

Think I over cooked it the image, with too much noise reduction.

Cheers,

Justin.

Really liking the composition and what you have done with the processing. Right move to go for more data. Get lots of integration time. Just makes processing that much easier and yup, the fine detail arrives

Noice:thumbsup:
