The Milky Way rises somewhere off the coast of Sydney. Taken last night between gaps in the pesky clouds.

Full resolution in my flickr photostream.

Thanks for looking :)

Nice image Carlos. I think the sky could be darkened up to provide a more dramatic image. Nice silky look to the ocean.

Superb shot Carlos. I actually like how you've kept everything bright. Looks almost like daylight.

Thanks for your comments Paul, yes I agree I think the sky could use some darkening, I keep looking at it and feel like it needs a change it almost looks too purple

Thanks Marc I appreciate your comments, I'm glad you like it :)

Nice one Carlos! I'll have to try the "magic glove" technique one day.

Cheers,
Stephen

Unique take on it, I like the clouds and mix of day/night due to the moon

Thanks Stephen, it takes a bit of practice but when you pull it off the results are good. Now I can point at the moon and not over-expose it, similar to a photo I took a few weeks ago of a Lunar Corona http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=105370

Thanks Roger, actually the moon was only a wanning crescent that night, the clouds appear so bright because of the light pollution coming from Sydney.

The foreground is a 155sec exposure with the background capped at 30sec 'Magic Glove method'.

Cheers Rod :)
