Hi everone,

Thanks Lester! It's great to see the images from other after observing the same thing at the eyepiece, even if the seeing was less than ordinary. Red Jr is getting really close to Red Sr, isn't it?

Not sure why, but I can't see your pics. All I see is the red cross & the file info/details.
Interesting.

Loverly shots there Lester, great colours and detail. I wanted to catch the Io transit and had half-decent seeing all ready to go, even had the 4x powermate in place, when bam, the laptop when haywire and it was over for the night:sadeyes:

Here is another one from last night. I think onion rings are a thing of the past, Gain 75% Gamma 0% keep shutter speed high and go for it.

Hi everyone,
this image is straight out of Registax with no extra processing.
Perhaps a more knowing person than myself can tell me why I am getting all this colour.?

my immediate reaction is tooooo much saturation.
what camera, the neximage?? is there a white balance? Sometimes the colour goes funny with the toucam and i restore default and it sorts it out.
Can you do a screen shot of a single image from registax ie alt + prnt scrn
What colour are they as individual images whilst aligning?
Have you fiddled with anything at the "wavelet" and "final" tabs in registax?

I've always been told to shoot at full saturation with the toucam....which I then assumed should be the case with the neximage....which is wot I told Lester to do...therefore he does....Am I wrong?

I don't get those colours...even with Lesters neximage in my scope....aperture related?
davidpretorius

sorry 100% with toucam, it looks like registax or somehting else after the event is adding too much.
here is my recent one with added saturation after the event

Hi David,
yes I have added waveletts otherwise the image would be blurry. At the final I added 7% saturation, but even without that there is heaps of colour. When I am capturing I can see the blue inbetween the equatorial belts if it is present.
Do you use waveletts? How much?
davidpretorius

Here are two screen shots from registax showing wavelets. I also do not touch anything else after wavelets
Lester

Thanks for that info David.
