Had another practice with the QHY5L-ll mono on Jupiter tonight. Seeing was horrid but the IR pass filter brought out much more detail and combined with a colour DFK shot using winjupos I got this :
QHY & 3x Tal IR 742 + DFK & 3x Tal + ext 2nd image DFK, 3rd shot QHY IR 742

A good result Stuart, the IR came up nicely and the combination with the DFK is certainly interesting.

Good stuff Stuart. If it's what you get under horrid conditions, I'd hate to think what you will come up with under fine seeing ;)

The IR742 certainly makes a difference.
Is the middle picture shot with the DFK?

I was (and still will) try L + RGB = L being the L from a mono camera combined with x amount of minutes/data from the colour DBK imager. A flip mirror & have both imagers set up with ID rotation/FR's.

The middle image is the mono QHY5L-ll IR combined with the colour DFK Eric. Winjupos combines the images even if they are different scale or orientation.
That sounds a good setup John. I could do with a more efficient way of swapping the cams around. It would be much easier if I got the colour QHY5 and sold the DFK as its so much heavier and has a different focal point which takes time to adjust but I need to try the QHY cam on more targets first.
