Hi :hi:

Really basic question much to my embarrassment. :ashamed:

I'm using a QHY-8 (not the round one, the square one) and a field flattener with a william optics GT-81. The camera requires about 55mm of back focus after the field flattener.

I know that I need to use spacers to do this, no problems, but have no idea what the difference between all the threads are. I have purchased a set of T-spacers but after looking at them when I un-boxed them, they look a little too small to fit on the QHY8. Other threads I've read say things like they use a T-2 to 2" nose piece, some say things about 48mm * 0.75 thread. GAH! :confuse2:

I am lost in the mire of thread differences and have no idea what the thread on the QHY-8. Before I attempt to use the force (:fight:), does anyone know something that can shed light? :stupid:

Hi Simon,

I am sure I used my MPCC with Poita's QHY8 but my problem is that I didnt have the T spacer rings to get the magical 55mm.

If you have some, they SHOULD fit, from memory, they are M42 x 0.75mm pitch which fits my Atik, my Canon T ring and the QHY8.

The gamaelectronics website says this: "M42 / 0.75 Standard thread allows all kinds of "Off the shelf" adapters to be connected."

You should be fine if they are T thread spacers.....

Cheers

Chris

Awesome, thanks Chris.

Will try putting them all together tonight and come back. I may be embarrassed again if they fit!

It worked! Apparently T-2 is the same as a T thread, and it fits right on to the QHY-8.
