New processing & colour scheme Solar (22nd March).

I'm trying to come up with something concrete in the way of colour, but I'm in two (or 3+) minds about it all. I keep seeing these bright orange Sol's - Who's idea was that originally I wonder? In theory we shouldn't be seeing hardly any colour at all in Sun images. I guess I need to move over & allow for 'artistic licenses' yes?

Anyway, just looking for opinions on this as a colour scheme.

No idea who came up with orange colour for the sun. I seem to recall something about it from school. :confused2:
That colour scheme looks very nice John. I have not done any colour processing in RegiStax before. I use Photoshop and the sun colour sort of arrives as a result of making the filaments red. Just stuck with it I guess. Mind you I will give it a crack and see what happens.:thanx:

Well sometimes Registax works, & sometimes it doesn't Ralph. I'd give it an 80% success rate. No idea why it refuses to colour the other 20% of mono images..

I like the colour - I also did not know Registax could do that!? What buttons do you push - I see 'colour mixing & RBG Balance'? I have played with these and had no colour change???!!!

Yeah. I've been adding false colour this way to certain things for 7 years lol. Starting with Reggie 2.

Matt, just as the screen shot shows, not sure what else to say other than refer back to my comment of it only working 80% of the time :shrug:

Are they TIFF's straight from Autostakkert? PNG's don't usually work at all.

I think that the yellow/redish shots are more appealing to me i seem to pick more detail.....may have somthing to do with the fact that unprotected, generally the only time i can look at the sun is through a hazy sunrise/set and this style of processing aproximate's that and interestingly the only other time is through thick cloud and the other "style" of processing looks like that. so who knows???:shrug:

I have not had a chance to try your colour method yet John. Your scheme is quiet attractive and pleasing to the eye. Almost calming, where I perhaps opt for a more turbulent look if I can put it that way!!! Going to try your way and maybe post both. Quiet strange that an image I think is really good (colour wise) does not appear that way to others! Go figure. In the end it is what suits you the best anyway. If we were all the same we would become sick of it and forums like this would die.

well i have had a play just recently and given that ha is pretty red i chose to do in photoshop 1.8R 0.65G 0.15B. While i do love the golden tones that Solar and Paul produce i was thinking on my own "signature" so to speak. i like th ecolour, but i also like the others. it all comes down to taste, though my wife says i have none ;)
