The Meerkat

Was in New Zealand 2 weeks ago and took this 4 minute exposure from St John's Observatory at Lake Tekapo with my Canon 45D DSLR. Did a night tour and they had an equatorial mount on which people could attach their cameras.
We had a wonderful clear mild night. One of the darkest sky I been under. Anyway, to me the Emu looked more like a Meerkat. The lovely New Zealand wines may have played some part in this interpretation :)

Good shot Richard, The wines may have effected your interpretation, in a good way, and you still managed a good photo, Lol. Allways a treat shooting under dark skies ! !
