Messages upside down.

Hi All
When i open a thread the first post is on the last page, can anyone tell me how to have it read the first message on the top of the first page?

Hmmm, that is certainly odd, I'm sure someone will come to your rescue.

Go to your User CP (see menu at top of page).
Under "Settings and Options", choose "Edit Options"
On that page, look for "Thread Display Options" section.

Check out the Thread Display Mode - you've probably got it set to the wrong value. Change that and see what happens.

Yep, as Chris says. You must have it set to: 'Linear newer first' rather than 'Linear older first'.

That is an interesting point.
You can set the message display to the manner displayed as said.

If you are logged in the default order is last message first which is probably the best if you are "chatting"

However if you don't log in the default display is first message at the top.

The major problem with the last message being the first displayed is that it becomes easy to get off the subject too easy. There are many treads in this forum that have over 50 posts and if you go to the original post you often find that the current posts have nothing to do with the 1st post.

Thanks for asking that and thanks to those who explained it. The default newest first thing was frustrating me and I couldn't find out where to change it.
