Hi all,
It was an absolute pleasure and an honor to be part of a live Google+ hangout today with seven of the best landscape astrophotographers in the world. So if you are after some inspiration or want to learn a few tips and tricks behind some of the greatest night scape images (or you just want to see my ugly mug ;)), then the whole thing can be viewed at the following link: (At an hour and 18 minutes it's a long one though)

Nice one, Greg.
But, where's Colin? :)
H
Very cool. I've only made it 15mins in, too tired to continue, will have to finish the rest tomorrow.
I noticed something strange in Goldpaint's photo(image #3 here (http://roycebair.smugmug.com/Events/Hangouts/Starry-Night-Photo-Panelists/28618944_qLpCgM#!i=2427268176&k=RLtxsPF)) which seems to have some obvious clone tool usage in the top left corner

Thanks guys :D
I had no say what so ever as to who was in the line up. What you don't see in that video H is the hour or so that we all talked for after the broadcast (which will remain strictly off the record). But we certainly discussed the work of other nightscape photographers and Colin's name was mentioned ;) So hopefully he can be part of any similar things in the future.
Certainly looks like some "gap filling" there Simon. I cant remember how many images Brad said this panorama was comprised of, but I suspect what has happened is he did not capture enough data in that section and had to fill it in to maintain the height and composition of the image.
Oh good point.
Half asleep at 4am, I failed to consider the distortion introduced by stitching the pano together. Still a great photo.
And a great get-together, I learned quite a lot from it

Nice one Greg :) Your humble voice was a nice addition to the panel ;)
I reckon we should do a down under version. There are more than enough here doing excellent work to fill out a panel. Maybe Mike Salway can host it?

Great idea! I'll start thinking about it after IISAC.
