Tycho 23 March

Hi there!

I am so proud of this capture that I have decided to venture out of the Beginners section to post here.

I have had 2 good Moon capture sessions lately: 23 March and 25 March. On both days the seeing was good, allowing me to test both the DMK41 and the ASI120MM under decent conditions. On 23 March I grabbed over 40 GB of data, my record so far. So there is plenty of data to process and play with!

Tycho was imaged with the ASI120MM and a 2.5 Powermate.

Excellent image, well done!

The jpeg is only 33kb. You're allowed to attach up to 200kb, so if you save for jpeg and specify your quality (still staying under 200kb) you shouldn't lose any clarity when presenting for the forum.

Paul, except these 2 days, the see has been very ordinary around here (I am in Flagstaff Hill). I hope it gets better soon!

Eric, look for days when a high pressure is over or very near centered over Adelaide. This produces good seeing results. I am at Glenalta most of the time and seeing can be a struggle in the hills zone. I am using Clayton Bay as the seeing is very good there but requires driving down there which is not always convenient.

Thanks Ralph to encouraging comments about my website. I am certainly having a great time imaging the Moon, so back in January I thought that a repository of my best pictures would be a good idea. There is lot's of room for improvement though.

Thanks Paul for your tips. I think I now need to take the scope out of my backyard to darker and better sites if I wnat to improve my imaging.
