Is the wedge your referring to......

If it is i would be nervous just putting a 8"SCT on it let alone a 12" and all the asscociated gear you would need for imaging if thats your intention. The superwedge variant {or the new ultrawedge that replaced it} .......

....is the minimum that should be considered .The ultrawedge is an improvement over the older superwedge with aparently smoother controls.I have the superwedge for my 10"SCT which after fitting a aftermarket kit to smooth the controls works pretty well:)

For some sobering thought I always remember this post on cloudy nights

The top picture of the SCT wedge looks just the one I have on my 8"Meade LX100. I have had it for 12 years now and have used a camera many times on scope. It is a nice casting and seems beefy enough with those strengthening fillets along the sides. It says Made in USA so maybe that's why I have no problems, but think 12" might be stretching things a bit - it wouldn't fit on, would it?. :)
