Hi everyone,

Seeing conditions last night started off very good 7-8/10 and then deteriated as the night progressed and humidity went up.

This is one of many captured with neximage last night.

Hi Jim

Hmm although a very nice image, it doesn't seem to have that crispness or bite that I have seen you produce with the ToUcam. Is that a Neximage vs ToUcam thing, or is it attributable to seeing?

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Lester, another big bold jupiter!. Great colours. Looks maybe a little over-processed to my eyes but that can be a personal preference thing.

Great stuff!

Thanks for your comments,

Still getting a handle on processing, and a long way to go.

But in my opinion this is the best from last night. Secret recipe capture with Neximage, I will test it a few more times before spilling the beans.

And heres the best from when we decided to add the extension tube to the barlow in the 14"

I couldn't take her any further with processing so I had to settle for that low contrast look. The seeing just wasn't there for the image scale.

Lester/Asi, these are great, that second one you've thrown up Lester is amazing in the boldness of the colour and detail it's pulled out on Red Jnr. Excellent - look forward to hearing more on the secret Neximage recipe too:D

Yes Asi,

Hi Dennis,

Sorry for the slow reply, I think the first one just shows my inabillity to look at one image and say that needs this or that to improve it. Its not until I produce a number of images and compare them side by side to find what looks the best.

Yes mate, but its my way to really tell what the seeing was like at the time ;)

early in the evening it was a 5.5-6/10 & by the time I got to your place a 4/10.

Nice one. Everythings there; detail/colour..

I wonder if theres a way to process those horizontal lines out...Prevention would be better than cure obviously.

#5 is great!

Hi everyone,

No.11 avi=10fps gain=60% gamma=0% shutter=1/20 second

So 20% less gain and 1/10 second slower shutter than No5 and horizontal lines take over. Interesting that all the captures last night where gain was less than 50%=onion rings and not as sharp. As gain drops off the shutter speed decreases, which can blur the image.

I was shooting at about the same time with 8"sct and 2x barlow. Seeing wasn't there as you say. But I was surprised how well the 8" held up to your 14", but not with the same image scale

My best capture through your scope Lester.

Standard toucam (840K)

686 frames stacked. LR deconvolution/1.5 hrs in pic. publisher tweaking.

(Yeah, the same 100 framer I posted in my thread ;) )
