While spending some time in Melbourne with my family early Jan, I did a trip to Mt Buffalo to take a 360 x 195 panorama from the top at night. I met up with Greg Gibbs and he kindly helped me lug some gear to the top of the Horn. It was a hot night, so the help and company was much appreciated :)

Greg's fantastic pano just posted prompted me to post this to provide the fuller view and give others an idea of where the light pollution is/isn't. The night was a bit hazy from fires to the north. The moon is rising lower left. Melbourne skyglow around 3 o'clock and towns along the NSW border at top.

Hi Colin,

another great shot and if I am reading you right it wasn't with a fish-eye lens?

I can see the attraction of the location, even Melbourne is not to great a glow!

Cheers

A great night under the stars and a pleasure to meet and help you out Colin. A bit of a shame about the hazy conditions but still a great shot  Can't wait to maybe see the whole sequence in motion one day.

Wow! Thats a beautiful shot, must have been a great night out. Im longing for some mountains, the highest I can get around here is about 80m above sea level.
