Hi all,

A milky way shot from a few weeks ago. It's OK, but not brillaint  I obviously didn't get the framing right, cropping the Magellanics off. I do enjoy using the 8-15 anywhere anytime tho :)

Canon 7D @ 1600 ISO
Canon 8-15 F/4 L
9 x 120 second exposures

I gave it a blue look. Seems to be the in thing.

Nice one Roger,

I should have gone to dryandra that night as it looks like you had excellent conditions there!

how did you go about stacking these?

This was actually down at the ASWA AstroCamp at Dryandra (near Narrogin). Skies there are good looking SW to N but glow to the NW from Perth :)

Friday night was 100% perfect. Best conditions I've seen for some time. There was 15 odd people up at 3:30am, unusual as I'm sure you would attest to!

Stacking - usual stuff, just DSS to reduce & stack, photoshop to layer foreground and background stacks and adjustment layers.

This is not a particularly good example, I'm not happy with the foreground layering. But don't think I can be bothered redoing it better.

I was hoping to use PixInsight but I'm bashing my head against it's learning curve right now. :mad2:

Thanks!

Thanks!
