Howdy
I got off a quick pic of this comet this morning, only a quick 30 sec unguided shot with the 300mm F.2.8 lens on loan from Bert. Its the fuzzy dot near centre. Will aim to get a better shot of it soon.

Wow, that looks small and faint.
What mag is it, and where is it? Never even heard of it.. quite a mouthful of a name too.
Look forward to more images of it, it'll look much nicer when you've got more shots stacked to reduce the noise!
Nice work, great to see more comet images.

Star Atlas pro has the comet Says Mag 8 that may be fairly close as its only a single shot. Will go for more shots next time.

CDC says mag 14.7 :confuse3:
Mag 8 is certainly more believable for a single 30 sec shot. Looking forward to seeing more shots.
yup, i want more. never heard of this one.
thanks for the pic.

Howdy
Tried for another image of this faint comet this morning. Gee its faint, it took me a while to find it on the finished image, taken under a full moon. 7 x 2 mins ISO 200, with Bert's 300mm F2.8 lens. Not an overly exciting observing prospect this comet, its around Mag 15. If someone could climb onto the 3.9 metre AAT and shove an eyepiece in, it might look ok lol.
Note, I didnt use any filters, not even the IR/UV cut filter as I was trying to get max brightness from any dust the comet might be giving off.
