I have not used this camera much for the sun as I did not want to offend the DMK51. Gave it a run today with some of the settings that John (Asi) passed on to me. What do you think. :question:

The DMK21 and 31 do very well for solar - I think the only trade off is a smaller field of view - but faster frame rate. If the feature fits on the chip it is a goer!

Yeah Matt,
I totally underestimated that camera. I have just bought a 4x power mate for the 51( crap) Oh well we will see. There is no doubt I will be using the 21 for close in work from now on thanks to Asimov.

For me, it's always been about trade off's, under & oversampling. In planet imaging, you'll always get a better result if you slightly oversample for the seeing & I can't see any reason why Solar imaging would be any different. Oversample at the scope; back off on the scale at the end result if necessary. I don't think I'd want to image with a 31 or bigger with my PST..
