Some nice seeing for Saturn this morning :) Canon EOS 600D video crop mode, 5x Powermate, 12" SkyWatcher Goto Dobsonian, manually tracked.
A muted Saturn and a more enhanced Saturn :) shown at 100% capture scale, cropped.

Update added a reduced size image using a Sigma2x teleconverter.

Thread with video here: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=104924 showing how the final image was reached.

Thanks for looking,

Tom

Exceptional images Tom - these are some of the best DSLR I have seen - a big scope works well for them.

Can't believe how you get these but they are splendid with Encke possibly showing.

Outstanding work Tom, you are sure doing it the hard way with a manually tracked Dob and DSLR but what a super result.

No, I haven't seen better with a DSLR either. I love it when people squeeze every drop out of their equipment & technique. Well done Tom!

Pioufff :eyepop:It is really great shot and splendid result with EOS 600D. Me too, I can't beleive that you get better result that some others astronomers who use the camera Flea or DMK or Basler. This camera is very good to do video.
Congratulations about these stunning images.

Thankyou, everyone, very much for the kind and encouraging comments! I do like to get as much out of the equipment as possible. I have finished processing an image made using the above equipment as well as a Sigma 2x teleconverter. Total focal length on the EOS 600D is 15,000mm, centre crop. Here it is in its original capture size and in a slightly reduced size, which is now added to the original post. In editing these I made much use of successive gaussian blur then unsharp mask.

Thanks for looking,

Tom

Here's a pic of Titan from the same session. 1700 frames stacked, result upsampled and saturation increased.
