Grabbed some RGB with this new 12" newt.

Looks like I'm going to need a better encoder for the dome, positional errors build up and eventually half the scope is imagining the inside of the dome  I have to force the dome to go home to clear the errors. A 600mm slot and a 400mm tube makes for a tight fit. I ordered some really thin neo magnets today to build a new encoder so this might fix it. A light box is needed badly too. Had a look at el panels but I'll need an A2 sheet and it's just too expensive, so foam board and perspex it will be.

5128 is 8x150sec Lum binx1 and 5x50sec RGB binx2.
5139 is 15x60sec Lum and 5x60sec RGB binx1.

I cropped both for a look see and I think 5139's colours are a bit sus.

Nice work. Looks like they are popular objects at the moment!

Nice work, Robin! I even caught a few photons myself last night until my USB to serial converter went on the fritz.

Cheers guys, I think it's going to be a decent scope.
Definitely not used to such short exposure times.
Might take a while to get used to it.

Two standard candles there and both look good too, Cen A is my favourite

Thanks guys, got the NB filters back in for a run tonight but work and weather got in the way instead.

I did get those tiny magnets this week to increase pointing accuracy on the dome. Unfortunately tiny rare earth magnets are so magnetic that I could only go from 4 ferrite magnets to 6 neo magnets so very little gain there. If I can get this electronic solution (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=104899) working, it might solve my scope/dome slot alignment woes. On the plus side, I now have a light box for it :)
