basic Laptop Computer

Hello.

A good friend has fallen of a two story roof while cleaning gutters,and has a very long road to recovery,and will not be out of bed or hospital for some time.

To help out the family is looking to buy a very basic laptop-all that is required is the machine to be able to connect to internet.

So if anyone in Brisbane area,has an older computer,this family would really appreciate it,to help with his recovery-going on to forums and looking around net would help him out.

Its worth while checking the refurbished computer resellers.

There are a number of local suppliers easily found on the net.

I purchased a IBM/Lenovo T60 laptop for usage as my Astro PC rather than sharing the house PC, from "notebooksgalore" in Melbourne for around $240 delivered, complete with charger and set up with Win XP and warranty.

Really clean nice unit - well pleased with it.

Sorry to hear about your friend, wishing him a speedy recovery.

As for a cheap laptop, I have a Dell D630, 1.8ghz core 2 duo (dual core), 2gb ram, 80gb hdd, 14.1" screen, good battery (2.5 hours life), charger/power pack, DVD (can't remember if it is a burner or just rom) in very clean condition and excellent presentation. No dead pixels etc

Anyway, looking for $175 Ono
