Hi all,

Here's a macros taken this week with my Tamron 90.

#1: face to face with a fly
#2: a strange-looking orange assasin bug
#3: a lycid beetle

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

A terrific set Stephen; the front on,” here’s-looking-at-you” shot of the fly gives it a really fascinating, 3D-like quality. Some vibrant colours there too.

Cheers

Thanks Bob! The trick is sneaking up on them very slowly!

Thanks Carlos! Having a macro lens certainly does open up a new world!

Cheers,

Stephen is that a 100 / 200 or 300 macro lens. I'm currently eyeing out a 100mm Canon L IS macro lens for about $640

Hi Carlos,

I'm using the Tamron SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 Lens. It's fantastic value for money - I just checked and you can pick up a new one for $329 delivered from DWI at the moment. I'd consider one of these as an introduction to macro (and as a stepping stone on the way to getting the MP-E 65 lens in the future if you really get into macro). There's more images with this lens on my Flickr photostream if you're interested.

Cheers,
Stephen
