Not as i did expect. Dense atmosphere despite of sharp sky. Poor in color.
Ok, for first attempt in 2013 ! :)
Better field with coma corrector, despite it isn't well adjusted

Not bad Jorge but I have to warn you the Jewel Box is a very elusive target. It would seem a piece of cake but I think its one of the harder objects to image and capture the WOW factor it has visually.
I think a nice refractor is the best bet for this object. I did an image of it recently with my TEC110 fluorite which I am finally putting through its paces and that looked nice (my best result so far) but there were other issues so not good enough!!
Greg.

yes, greg, ngc 4755 seems to be a piece of cake, but it have many more stars, around a hundred. I tried to minimize the presence of neighbourhood, but there is a bad work at right-bottom side. Some stars in evidence there may not be part of cluster. At that moment, my intention was to capture the complete cluster, since it is not an usal registered field.
The great difficulty is to capture the stars colors with my set of photographic equipment and lack of filters, mainly for street-light pollution

Beautiful shot. Love the jewelbox too. You've got some very nice colors in the stars.

Good one Jorge. I have to agree that this is one cluster that rarely comes up to its visual WOW factor. I've tried a couple of times and haven't yet been able to get it right.
Yours is very close, thanks

And a new work with 9 x 60 sec iso 400 with and without attenuation of neighborhood.
The second is the image more alike with my peripheral vision of this cluster

Hi, Greg. I think I replied your pm, but I am not sure about. So, I do it here, too.
yes, Greg. This is a a great little problem. My old Canon doesn't show imagens alive on computer, therefore I must shot, transfer, analyse, shot againg, etc. Some times it seems to be ok, but it is not absolutely ok.
I waste more time focusing than capturing ! A new camera is in my budget... but only in budget !
