A few more as I get through the backlog, these taken at Forresters Beach on the 16th Feb.
After taking the first few on the walkway down to the beach (posted a couple of weeks ago), I went down to the beach and climbed up into the shrubby bush on the hill overlooking the beach, to try and get some tree silhouettes. Some of the trees looked nice from the beach but once I climbed up there it was hard to get them positioned the way I had in mind.
In any case, they still came out ok.
I like the pattern the clouds formed in the first one during the 30s exposure.
All with the usual settings and gear: Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm @ f/2.8, 30s exposure @ ISO6400.

These are really nice Mike; each one is visually stunning and excellent in its own right, although my favourite is #1.
Top stuff Mike!

The first one is very unique, Mike. Those clouds make that photo.
Oh, look, an aurora in the third image! :P

#1 is special but I like them all. The contrast looks great. I reckon your best to date. I particularly like the last one.

Unique images Mike. The first one has very unusual cloud patterns that are very striking with the stars. I like the 3rd one best.
6D is looking good. I may get one.

Excellent images Mike! I like them all but if I could only take one home it would be the 1st one! As Greg has mentioned the unusual cloud patterns and the puffy stars are very striking! and pleasing to the eye :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the comments.
I agree with the clouds - they were quite unique! and really made the image.
Got a couple more still to come from that morning session - hopefully finish processing them today.

Plenty of ooos and ahhhhs!
Is that a distant storm in the last one?

Thanks Dean. I don't think so - I think it's just some ships.

Very nice work, Mike! The cloud adds a lot of dynamics to the first shot - my favourite.
Zodiacal light in 3rd is very nice too.

Lovely images. The third is definitely the best of the set.

Overall I think these work quite well but do think that portrait framing does not lend itself to many landscape scenes. If the first one was in landscape then this would have been my overall choice.
I like the colours but feel as so though the Milkyway is just a bit too contrasted and ought to be just a little less in your face. Personal opinion but just a thought.
I cannot pick which I like because I think all of them have merits to produce a favourite.
Did you do a time lapse? That cloud movement would have been very interesting to view in time lapse.

Thanks very much, Alex! I think it's the first time I've caught Zodiacal light.
Thanks Adam, I agree - it can add some depth and drama to the shot.
Thanks heaps!
Thanks for the feedback, Paul.
I didn't do a timelapse unfortunately, I didn't stay in the one position long enough. I agree those clouds would've looked great in motion.
Excellent work Mike I do like the third best of all, but all well worth the effort put in well done.

Great shots Mike. The clouds in the first pic are beautiful.
Any thoughts on how the 6D compares with the 5D3 at high ISO? The shots look great.
