Taken tonight at 8.15pm using an Olympus point and shoot at 18x zoom. The camera was perched on the top rung of a 6ft step ladder, and held in place by hand. Exposure was 6 seconds at f5.6.
I took about 20 shots this way and just hoped one would be reasonable!
Nowhere near the quality of other peoples images, but I was just happy to get something.
Thanks for looking

Nice try Laurie. You need to increase the exposure level a bit. I've adjusted it to show you.. hope you don't mind. There's lots of freeware programs out there that would easily do it for you. I must admit I'm jealous of you being able to see it as I've got a flaming great gum tree in the way. Guess I'll have to wait for the next one.
Cheers

That's a good result under difficult circumstances laurie!
One question though, why didn't you use your canon 1100D?
Cheers,
Justin.

Nice one Laurie - glad you got to see it. If your other shots are similar then you could stack them :)
Cheers,
Tom
Laurie I'm so happy to see you got to image the comet.
Well done mate.

Thanks Justin-I didn't want to risk sitting the 1100D on top of a ladder with concrete underneath!:)

+1 for effort!
Where is this comet in the sky? I have tried 2 nights trying to image it but couldn't find it. I think its too low for my area which has the Blue Mountains to the west fairly close.
Is it SW and about 7 degrees up?
I got eaten by mossies last night trying to find it!
Greg.

Thanks Greg
Last night it was low in the western sky, visible from about 8.00pm and gone(for me) by 8.30pm:)
