Taken tonight at 8.15pm using an Olympus point and shoot at 18x zoom. The camera was perched on the top rung of a 6ft step ladder, and held in place by hand. Exposure was 6 seconds at f5.6.
I took about 20 shots this way and just hoped one would be reasonable!
Nowhere near the quality of other peoples images, but I was just happy to get something.

Nice try Laurie. You need to increase the exposure level a bit. I've adjusted it to show you.. hope you don't mind. There's lots of freeware programs out there that would easily do it for you. I must admit I'm jealous of you being able to see it as I've got a flaming great gum tree in the way. Guess I'll have to wait for the next one.

One question though, why didn't you use your canon 1100D?

Where is this comet in the sky? I have tried 2 nights trying to image it but couldn't find it. I think its too low for my area which has the Blue Mountains to the west fairly close.

Is it SW and about 7 degrees up?

I got eaten by mossies last night trying to find it!
