i was lucky to see Comet panstars again tonight. now to play with the data. here is a sample, taken on a jittery tripod and polarie with a canon 600D and a 55-250mm lens at 250mm f8 iso1600 10 second shot. it was a great night - my daughter even came out with me:D

well i beeped the horn a few times - saw you pulled up in the next carpark with that yelolow bus with the people in the deck chairs on the roof. Chris Bond and his lovely wife were right next to me hogging all the photons:P
Youre not having much luck with gear are you? i expect Scott to pull out a pearler with his comet tracker

Very nice Dave, love the subtle reflection in the 2nd one.

Thanks for the heads-up on where to look too, I would've found it otherwise. I was still looking south-west!

DSS is OK for aligning on the comet although for this comet I typically end up reducing the files in DSS then stacking them how I want in PhotoShop :)

Great shot Dave.

You are good at setting up your Polarie. Those stars are perfect for 40 seconds and 250mm.

Greg.

thanks scott - those images of yours taken with the comet tracker are a treat

you know its funny, its clear right now but over head the stars are twinkling violently:sadeyes: because i was "allowed out" two nights in a row i had to tow the line.....which nearly killed me.....another clear horizon tonight

Very nice shots David and as you say, you've got the raw data so in time I'm sure you'll work out how to tease more out of it, and also ready for the next comet!

Cool video David. You caugh it the same night as me. Have you got LR Timelapse and Adobe Lightroom? You can take care of the stretch and variations in illumination in your sequence.
