A more traditional Tarantula, used the same Ha data, just added the RGB.

Larger version on my website.

I like it, I like it a lot. You've managed to get a nice amount of nebulosity there, it really makes for a lovely image.

That's exquisite Stuart,
One of the few fluid looking smooth images I've seen. They're usually chaotic, but this one has a 3D feel.
Was this with the Asa n12?
How long were the subs?

Hi All,

Thanks for all the comments. Th new scope/camera combo seems to be working out. The weather has also been kind, except for the last couple of days.

Yes, it was taken with the ASA N12.

The subs were 15 mins for the Ha and 5 mins for the colour, 30 mins in total for the colour and a few hours for the Ha.

Cheers

Two lovely Tarantulas Stu, both show some elements of quality processing too. The scope and camera combo looks to be working out well ... wish I had the same success back in 07 with my ASA N12 :tasdevil:...imagine how many images I could have done by now

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the praise. Don't know about the processing though, I think that this is only the third time I've processed the data. I'm about to have several months off, time to do a few Sidonios on some data perhaps...

The scope seems to be behaving, over the past few days my mount is behaving and Sbig know about the firmware problem with my camera (and presumably all STT8300s). The weather in Melb, though bloody hot, has been OK for imaging though, several nights I've just left the scope running.

Cheers
Stuart
