After having read the Herald-Sun here in Melbourne since the occultation, surprise surprise, not one article or acknowledgement of the event, now l'm not one to take anything to seriously but it astounds me that we live in an age where information and scientific achievement is advancing like never before and yet the wonders of our universe are only reported by the relevant science publications and not brought to the general public by the mass press.
You can only imagine how many people may have been attracted to our pastime had they had some information on this event and moreso if they had seen it through a telescope,l've been looking at the heavens for a long time and it still blew me away so hopefully in the future the papers will get a science writer and hopefully keep the people aware of the wonders that they live under.
Mick.
