I'm just home from Fred Watson's new book launch in Bathurst - "Star-Craving Mad Tales from a Traveling Astronomer". I got my signed copy of the book in the mail the other day, and haven't read it yet... hence I haven't put this in the Astro Books and Media section.:)
It was quite a pleasant evening listening to Fred as always, with stories about the Coonabarabran fire, his trips to Norway Aurora Surfing, the LHC, etc.
I thought I'd fly the flag and wore my IISAC T shirt, but one of the faithful went one better and plugged IIS during question time! I didn't get a chance to catch him afterwards to talk to, but well done sir! Stand up and take a bow.
:D
