A few more from Forresters Beach from back on the 16th Feb (it's been rain and clouds since).

These were all taken on the walkway down to the beach when I first got there. I've got some more after this when I ventured down onto the beach and into the shrubs on the hill.

I'm playing around with different processing for these milky way images from the 6D. The first here was the latest I've processed, and I like it the most.

1st: 30s exposure, f/2.8, ISO6400
- Large 1 (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/377)

2nd: Single 5 minute exposure, ISO1000, f/8 or so (the exif for f/r is not captured with the Samyang)
- Large 2 (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/378)

3rd: Panorama of 3 or 4 shots to get higher into the milky way and crux, showing eta carina too.
- Large 3 (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/379)

Can't wait to get out again!

A great series Mike, the last one does it for me with the crop and aspect ratio resonating with the skies and foreground the most.

Will we ever see another hi-res Jupiter or Clavius from you now that you have the wide field bug!;)

Cheers

Dennis

Now you are starting to cook with gas Mike. Those are very nice. You are getting more in tune with that camera eh? I like the last one best. Perhaps could do with a bit more colour in some of those large bright stars, that would top it off. I like the panorama's best as it gives a nice image perspective. Portrait presentation is a bit narrow for me.

Thanks Dennis, appreciate the comments.

There's always hope.. I haven't sold the 12" so it's still there to be used, one day ;)

Thanks Al! That emu really wanted to get out of the water!

Thanks Greg, I see what you mean with the portrait. It does feel narrow after a panorama.

Thanks Marc!

Thanks Dave!
