Hello,

Whilst waiting for the dreary SE Qld skies to clear, I managed to duck out between the interminable rains and grab a few shots, just to satiate my photon thirst.:)

Much like the Kookaburra and Jumping Spider, I am now content!

Cheers

Thanks Laurie and Geoff – it is nice to have a daytime hobby too, for those interminable cloudy nights of late!:)

ewww, I don't "do" caterpillars and grubs so nearly tossed my cookies on the first 2 shots.
But I'm loving the sharp detail :)

I too went out today, between showers, for a nature walk. It's a panacea for all ills. :) This rain has been sending me stir crazy. LOL

Hello, Jeanette

Sorry for the yucky views – I’ll post a warning in the subject line next time!;)

Good to hear that you are staying sane during this protracted spell of uncooperative weather, the astro-withdrawal symptoms can be quite strong sometimes! I’m sure there is a medical term for the wretched syndrome of the astro doldrums.:)

Hi Jeanette,

Would that be an astro or terrestrial camera, or both?

A great series Dennis! I've also been ducking outside with my macro lens during breaks in the rain. Will post a few shortly. Have you noticed that there are fewer insects around this summer, or is it just me having trouble finding them?

Cheers,
Stephen

Ripper shots Dennis. The Jumping spiders are fantastic.

Absolutey gobsmacked by the close up of the spiders eyes, the reflection of the lens on each eye is 4 x AWESOME!! The other images are very good too, but that one just blew me away!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Stephen and yes, the rains seem to have affected the number of insects around, certainly in our back garden. We managed to get out to Roma Street Parklands 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months on the rare sunny mornings and once again, very few insects. The Eastern Water Dragon population was booming so that may have something to do with it!

Thanks Patrick, Jumpers are my favourite spider, they seem to ooze character!

Thanks Carlos, the close up eyes shot was taken with the Canon MPE-65, a specialised Canon macro lens that has a variable range of x1 to x5 and I think I was up around x3.5 for that shot.
