Hello I have the SBIG OSC ST 4000 XCM which I purchased from IIS here.
Tonight I have finally set up my Gem2 + G11) with a reflector + MPCC on it.
My question is this....
Do I need to use the relay adaptor box if I autoguide with the in built chip on the SBIG ST 4000 ? as this is an older camera and the output is a RJ like multi pin one (labelled AO/CFW/scope)
It did come with an adaptor which fits this plug which ends in a ST 4 type phone plug - but i was unsure whether being it was an older camera it needed isolating on the Gem 2. The Gem 2 is two years old I think. (second hand from here also), I did get the relay adaptor box so I can use it if necessary.
If I am unsure I may just use my SSAG but would love to play with the internal chip on CCDops..
Please reply asap before I blow anything up!
Cheers

It's been a while since I had either SBIG, or Losmandy (and it was the Digital Drive, not the Gemini), but I never used anything like the isolating thingie.
Mind you, if you have it, and it makes you feel better, why not use it. I don't see a downside to using it.
Play with and learn the inbuilt chip, it will save weight etc, and works a treat. Nice gear, real nice.

Gemini II is compatible with all SBIG cameras and autoguiders. Just plug and play.
