Had a nice view of Panstarrs from the SW corner of WA last night. It was quite bright and easily visible naked eye.

Attached image was taken just after 8pm @ 120mm, f/2.8, iso 3200, 2 sec. I'm down here for the weekend, so hopefully I'll get another view tonight :)

As always Colin a superbly composed picture. It reminds me of the views that I had of Comet West over three nights in mid February 1976. West was about a magnitude brighter than Pan-STARRS and went onto put on a spectacular display in the morning sky for the northern hemisphere which everyone would have seen pictures of. Looking forward to some more of your fine efforts.

Cheers, Coops.

Very very nice image, Colin! and as quite creative use of twilight sky. I was thinking about a similar image at Cape Schanck lighthouse.

Cheers,
Alex

As mentioned elsewhere, a beautiful image that is a modern day rendition of Church and Turner. :)

Thanks for the great feedback, guys :)

Ian, what are your thoughts now that it's swung north? Will it put on a show like West? I thoroughly enjoyed my short encounter with it, especially seeing 2 naked eye comets in the same quarter of sky :)
