After Noticing the K-index was at 4~5 at 8pm I setup the camera at my local beach and snaped over 120 images. The Wanning Moon decided to flood out the night sky, but I got enough to create a star Trail.

Pentax K-x & Tripod
Samyang 14mm@2.8 Lens
3200 iso@30 second subs
Processed in PS CS3.

I have reprocessed the wide view image, a more natural look I think.

Regards Paul.

Gorgeous photos Paul  I am seeing a heap of photos from last night coming in from Tas over on FB. Shame about the moon spoiling the party.

Well done Paul. I am down in the south east of SA at present and last night it was just going off. Green with lovely pinky red. I will put some thing up on my site later, but it was lovely.

Thanks Greg!

I must admit I am not that happy with the processing of the single image, I will have another go when I get home.

Thanks Paul.

Gee you have seen two Aurorae within 6 months, considering you haven't been so lucky to observe and image them. can't wait to see your images on the other forum..

There has been a raging storm over the last 18hrs.. I hope it will last another so I can have a crack at it again.

Thank you Mike

This Storm has caught everyone by surprise, even the warning system was idle.
Phil Hart put me on a great program called "Star Stax", so easy to use pity it is only in 8bit.
I suppose thats something else I need to look up on PS?

Great catch Paul :) I was on the WA south coast last night, but got nothing in the window before moonrise. Must have been a short sharp burst.
