Taken in August last year at the end of an afternoon spent in Florence in Italy, the gibbous Moon could be seen rising over the city. From the (to me) unusual angle it was rising at I could tell it was going to pass over the top of the Dome of the Florence Cathedral - if I was in the right spot!
The trouble was, the layout and view from the streets and lanes didn't really allow for much room for movement to catch it. I found a place which was right where the markets were packing up for the day so I had to dodge around the vendors doing their work to get these shots.
I was pointing out the view to other tourists walking by and many shared it with me, except for a group of Japanese tourists who didn't understand what I was talking about or gesturing at. They would have got some great shots with the gear they had.
Anyway, the pics were taken after sunset (except for number 4 I've snuck into the thread ;) with a Canon EOS 600D with a 55-250mm IS lens. The last two are tonemapped composites from 3 bracketed shots each.
Thanks for looking,
Tom
