Hi Guys,

Just finished my first processed image with the Baader UHC-S Filter. Wowww! what can i say? It doesn't look like it came from a DSI-C at all. This has to be one of my very best pic I have ever imaged.

The UHC-S filter really darkens the background yet brightens the nebula entirely also removing over exposured star bloats. While using the filter in an eyepeice, you can actually spot nebula glows quite easily. This makes observing as well as imaging so much easier to find the object. Also now after using the filter, there were hardly any processing done to the final stacked image.

The image was 21 x 84 second exposure stacked in registax. processed in photoshop cs2 with darks auto subtracted.

Comments welcome.

Wow, incredible image scale and smoothness.

Are you getting a focal reducer?

Eric, that is an absolutely stunning image!

Congratulations, your success is the inevitable result of dedication and enthusiasm.

Well done and look forward to more images.:D

PS. Was this what you were imaging when you went to KMart for a new jump start battery?

thanks guys :) . Mike, ive got bert's focal reducer but it seems to bloat out the stars and blur out the image abit. i'll try using it with the filter next .

lol adam. yep. I started imaging at 7:00pm and the battery ran out at 12:00am as it was 1/2 charged. Got grumpy and bought another battery at kmart straight away drove home and start my imaging session again. didn't stop imaging till 6am no sleep Zzz.zz.. Looks like its worth getting the battery afterall :)

Did abit of adjustments in photoshop. Here's another shot.

Eric,

I have been watching with interest as you progressed with your DSI; from your initial woes with alignment to this.

This is what I have been waiting for.

One word: congratulations.
