Hi,
Does anyone have 'spare' dual axis drive motors and controller for a Vixen SP/GP mount, that they would like to sell? Please PM if able to help.
Regards,
David.

I did read on the EQmod forum that the Skywatch EQ5 "upgrade kit" fitted the Vixen and gives all the benefits of a Synscan GOTO....

Thanks Ken, I'll follow-up on that option. Regards,

Vixen drive controllers are very hard to come by. There is a firm in Germany that makes compatable units, but they are not cheap. I would also be interested to know if the EQ5 drive works. I see the dual axis kit goes for $295 at Bintel. Q. is just the controller available seperately?

John,
For the Synscan benefits, you need the associated motors and controller board.
The guys on the EQmod forum definately used the Skywatcher EQ5 Upgrade kit to improve the Vixen GP mount.....

Hi Dave
I have a couple of MT-1 stepper motors attached to a GP mount (sans Polar scope) and a Mel Bartels stepper motor controller plus a boxful of various stepper motors and stuff which I have not used for quite some time. If you want I'm sure we can come to some agreement.

Hi Danny,
Sounds promising. I'll send a PM so we can work out the details.
Regards,
Dave.
