Hi All,
Becoming a bit bored with my temporary incapacitation. Have produced an animation, mostly around oppositions of the last six years, as we head toward a ring opening, relative to Earth, of approx 26 degrees in 2016.
Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor

Looks great - and the changes (not just the ring opening) are quite striking over the period!

Thanks Deeno.
Thanks HCR32. I first started imaging with 35mm film Ricoh then a Meade DSI, 35mm film Nikomat, Fuji FinePix S602Z via eyepiece projection then came the ToUcam which I used to discover my first Saturn electrical storm which lead to my DMK and filterwheel which took the first RGB in this animation and then to my Flea3 Firewire & Flea3 GigE cameras.
Thanks Stephen.
Thanks Mike, I suppose it's been a while now and for sure practice at it and learning from the mistakes certainly helps.
Thanks Mike, a lot of things happened on and around Saturn over the last 6 years, for sure. There seems to be less and less imagers in OZ doing planetary work, would you ever consider taking it on, we could sure use someone of your ability.
Reckon there must be a definition out there somewhere to describe a bloke that takes a photo of himself every day for 12 years, maybe some sort of obsessive compulsive disorder. Perhaps he should have got a life and maybe....tried astrophotography. Never know he may even have then made some sort of contribution to science.
Thanks Ray, have a stack of external drives, sometimes the old data comes in handy.
Thanks Matt, every one of the 6 images in the animation features a significant event. My first SED's storm in the first frame was a very big deal back in 2008 and later became the longest lived storm at that time. Only when the rings are close to edge on do we see transits and shadow transits of Titan and one of those is featured here along with various other SED's outbursts, the mother of which was The Great Storm of 2010/2011 followed by the continuing evolution of the Great Storm Remnant in 2012/2013
Thanks Laurie.
Thanks Lee.
Thanks Dave.
Thanks Mark, hope you catch a break with the weather.
Thanks Steve, Saturn will always be my favorite Planet, things just seem to keep happening there.
Thanks Peter.
Thanks Alan.
Thanks Graeme, this time around Saturn will be high enough anywhere in Australia to have a real good look at it.

Great animation indeed. One of the images shows what I think is a moon in transit. Which moon was that? Year?

Great sequence Trevor. Like a time capsule hey?

Thanks Asi.
Thanks Irene, the image you refer to was from 2009 when there were multiple transits and shadow transits of Saturn's Moons, due to the minimal inclination of the ring plane at that Time. This particular image has a shadow transit of Titan happening on the planet and Titan itself can be seen just below and to the left. In early 2009 I was fortunate to capture the entire transit & shadow transit of Titan on the same night which made for a quite unique animation.
Thanks Marc, if I am still capable of imaging through to 2038 I will have the data for a killer, complete orbit animation. Not sure what sort of nick I will be in after another 25 years, being then a sprightly 87 year old.

Thanks George.
Thanks Peter.
Thanks Ric.
Thanks Rolf, the continuous change in apparent tilt certainly tends to sneak up on us, but when viewing a snapshot in isolation from several years it really is quite dramatic, I think.
