View Full Version here: : Three more last night
Hey all
Didnt have the night yesterday i was hoping for. Suprise family dinner+scope was giving me probs with align{first time}nearly lost my temper with that, very fustrating.
Didnt have much time to experiment but wanted to try for a few anyway.
1. Triffid neb 35*30sec auto stacked
2. Swan neb 30*25sec auto stacked
3. Eagle neb{crap}20*25 sec auto stacked
Couldnt seem to get anything else after that, had to give up before i got the scope in a head-lock or put the boot in:D
We still havnt made up yet.

Dont underestimate how "fit" you need to be for a session. Fatigue (and maybe you have got some judging by the work you are doing) and stress coupled with the cold etc work hard against your concentration. I now notice the change from enjoyment to frustration and take it into account... relax warm up cuppa short spell... the relax revive survive thing really.
Good work there has been a lot of moisture in the air around here and rain out to sea near you.

Youre right. I gotta know when to take a break and chill out.
Ill take your advice next time.
yup, if its starting to give you the poos, its time to head in. its only worth doing if you are enjoying yourself :)
got some good shapes in the triffid and swan tho :)

Hi Josh,
Yes its unfortunate that we need sleep, when there is so much to do it seems a waste of time.

Some goodly pics there, I agree, astronomy/photography and freezing on Winter nights not worth it if your not enjoying it. There have been some good seeing nights when I just didn't go out because I knew if I did, I wouldn't appreciate it and waste time feeling the grumbles. Then, on other less than ideal conditions, I'd spend most of the night and wee hours thoroughly enthralled and motivated, with alignment problems forgotten about, 'frost bitten' fingers and toes, out of coffee and miles from anywhere, but not giving a care ...
Don't turn it into a chore that makes it less enjoyable and end up selling ya scope - you'll only get another one later on, but you'll be a lot older ... :D
