just a quick suggestion, i think this forum would benefit from an off topic section where members can talk footy, other hobbies, just anything that's not astronomy.

I have to admit, when I was new to IIS, I didn't think there was an off topic section because the 'General Chat' section is part of the 'General Astronomy' sub-fora, which suggested to me general chat about astronomy... but yeah... 'General Chat' is where almost anything goes.
Steer clear of starting threads about Religion or Politics.

General Chat is the catch-all for off-topic threads.

Sometimes they're astronomy related, other times just general stuff - hobbies, what's in the news etc.

But yeh, don't post about politics or religion. :)

Would like if General chat was split into two. General Astronomy anything vaguely related to astronomy and Social for everything else.
